Jazz & Jam Sessions

I have been enjoying the journey of listening, learning, playing and growing! From meeting Jazz Legend Dr. Lonnie Smith and Kyle Eastwood to being asked to play with International Jazz Steel Drummer Othello Molineaux.  The Jazz Gods continue to smile on me!

On Friday, November 13, 2015 while enjoying a jazz set with BOSSA JAZZ at The Bamboo Room in Lake Worth, Florida I had the pleasure of sitting with and reconnecting with Legendary Jazz Songstress, Songwriter and Founder of Women In Jazz South Florida JOAN CARTWRIGHT.

I joined this amazing organization on November 13 as member # 298, and their 165th musician. I look forward to this new chapter in my life.

I will be interviewed by Joan Cartwright on her show Music Woman Thursday, December 10 at 4pm. Listen online to Music Woman Blogtalkradio.

Here’s more about the organization. Since 2007, Women in Jazz South Florida, Inc., has been a 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization that promotes women musicians, globally, through events, concerts, performances, clinics, lectures, workshops, articles, interviews, newsletters, courses, contacts, research, history, archives, websites, film, audio and video recording, and recognition.

First Jazz Combo Performance Ever!

Jazz Combo Band 10.28.2015Thursday, October 27, 2015

Duncan Theater Stage West 7:30 pm – PBSC

It’s official. I am a fledgling jazz musician. I enjoyed every note, riff, and solo.  My stage fright and fears dissolved the moment we began.  I was tasked with introducing each song and the band members.  I also initiated intros and cued outros.  We played Summertime, Tangerine and Bag’s Groove. I recorded the performance as a reminder of where I started and the humility of the moment.
